Q.   How does the builder order the secondary lateral from the power pedestal?
A.   The builder needs to contact IREA Engineering Services to set up the billing account for service. Upon the installation of the foundation, the builder must mark an "E" to display where the electric lateral needs to be installed (must be located within the front 25% of the house). Most laterals are installed within two weeks (depending upon site readiness and weather conditions).

Q.   The service has been inspected but I still do not have a meter, why?
A.   Typically, it is because a billing account has not been established and the owner needs to contact Engineering Services to set up the account. Another common reason is that there is a question of safety or the wiring is not according to IREA specifications. If this is the case, Engineering Services can explain the problem and how to solve it.
